It's been a while...

Ok, I know that it's been a while since I posted because I am STILL in the process of working on a new blog. I just wanted to give an update on what is going on with Swanky Socials!

2011 has gotten off to a GREAT start. We had a blast at The Bridal Market in February with Perfect Wedding Guide. Met so many wonderful people and gained several new brides! Thanks to my wonderful assistants, Meredith and Ellen. Meredith is a bride of mine, and also a fellow vendor. She is a makeup artist and owns her own business, One Fine Day Artistry. Ellen has been working with me for the past couple months on wedding days, and looking forward
to having her for the rest of the summer!

We had our first 2011 wedding on March 25 at Cantebury United Methodist Church with the reception at Park Lane. Shannon and John couldn't have been more happy about getting married and their day turned out perfect! They successfully brought together two very different families- hers from southern Mississippi and his from England- to have a wonderful meal and enjoy time together. I will definitely do a recap of the wedding with the b
eautiful photos from Daniel Taylor Photography--on the new blog!

The very next weekend we had our 2nd wedding of the year... Shaina and Courtney Nix were married on April 2 at Birmingham Botanical Gardens. It was absolutely perfect weather that Saturday after having storms all week. We set up a beautiful ceremony in the Hill Garden, and then the guests enjoyed a yummy seated dinner in the Ireland room, provided by Echelon Catering. Beautiful night!

I have been hard at work with all the brides for the rest of the summer... I am so excited about each and every one of them!! A couple are friends I have known for years, and some are friends I have just met, but very excited to see them through to their big day. We
also have a rehearsal dinner to plan and a party for a couple getting married in Puerto Rico. It's all so exciting for everyone.

We have also already booked several brides for 2012!!! It's always good to start planning when you can!

So, hopefully I will have some time to meet with my blog designer this week to get the new site designed to perfection!! We have some exciting things to announce with that new site as well!!!!

Here are a couple beautiful images to leave you with.....
